Hungry For Life Progressive Dinner Party

Hungry For Life Progressive Dinner Party

We have a date for next year... Monday, May 18, 2009!
New location. New restaurants. Lots of fun!

Don't you just love a good progressive dinner party? We do! With 250 attendees dining in some of Sacramento's finest retaurants, we had a blast at this year's Hungry for Life Progressive Dinner Party.

On behalf of the Down Syndrome Information Alliance’s (DSIA) board of directors, staff and members, thank you to everyone who supported our Hungry for Life progressive dinner party. Since 2004 the DSIA has provided education, support and advocacy for people with Down syndrome and their families to improve their quality of life and inclusion in all aspects of our community.

With 1 in every 733 babies is born with Down syndrome, it is the most common chromosomal abnormality.  Down syndrome affects people of all ages, races and economic levels, and is characterized by certain physical features, health conditions and mild to moderate developmental delays.

Although people with Down syndrome are truly more like their peers than different, society often does not recognize their tremendous abilities, value and contributions to their families, peers, co-workers and the community. People with Down syndrome are hungry for a regular life and in fact, they regularly attend community schools and colleges, find work, participate in decisions that affect them, and contribute to society.

Your support of the Down Syndrome Information Alliance will help DSIA make a huge and direct impact on the lives of people with Down syndrome locally. Because of friends and supporters like you DSIA is able to help expectant parents welcome their babies instead of fear them, enable children with Down syndrome to attend their local schools, provide tools to keep children and adolescents healthy, improve employment opportunities for adults and create partnerships to benefit the community.

We hope you enjoyed the evening and please know that you have truly made a difference in the lives of so many.

Bon Appetit!
